General Faction

The following are all the named Cyphers who have made at least one contribution or have been mentioned in passing within Anthem-logoAnthem or its related media. The list will be updated when more information becomes available. The mentioned people have been a part of the Cyphers Faction at least once in their life.

Notable Cyphers

These are Cyphers who have some form of important presence on Coda, but haven’t been seen prominently as of 468 LV.

Benwick Xan

Benwick Xan was a brilliant Cypher of his day. He was adamant on learning to pilot a javelin, even though it was frowned upon to do so for Cyphers. During one expedition, while was piloting a javelin, his heightened senses confused him and he ended up killing the person he was supposed to protect. His story is still told as the Cypher who wanted to fly to everyone in Bastion as a reminder of what would happen if a Cypher wishes to fly a javelin.

Gad

Gad is a Cypher partner of Freelancer Rythe. During the Icetide of 468 LV, Gad was cyphering Rythe as she was trying to reach the Hammertop Mountains to show the view to little Hope through a special helmet. Around this time, he helped Rythe against the outlaws and was able to connect Hope to the helmet that connects to the gateway, so that the child could see what Rythe wanted to show her.

Rythe's nickname for Gad is Gaddy.

Libor Kahrl

Libor Kahrl was the Chronicler of Shadowmark while it was an active settlement. Before Shadowmark fell to ruins, Kahrl requested new amplifiers to be sent from Antium, because the ones present in Shadowmark were severely damaged.

The First Cypher

The First Cypher was the daughter of an Engineer, who ventured too deep into the gateway, when the Arcanists hooked her up to a machine, after listening to the Anthem. Legend has it that she guides the way for all Cyphers who are at the verge of losing themselves to the Anthem.

Lesser Known Cyphers

These are Cyphers who are still alive and well but are mentioned only in passing by or shown sparsely in Anthem or any of its related media.

Cypher Ada

Cypher Ada is a fictional Cypher from the radio play Crimson Lancer. She is present in the eleventh season of the show. CLAnonymous has written fan fiction about this season where Ada is also included.

Cypher Mirron

Cypher Mirron is afictional Cypher from the radio play, Dawnguard. During the Icetide of 468 LV, while Faye is trying to catch up with the holiday special episode of Dawngard, Haluk and his two green lancers kept causing ruckus, which kept disturbing Faye, as she realized Mirron was anew character, even though Cypher Rada's character was still on.

Cypher Rada

Cypher Rada is a fictional Cypher from the radio play, Dawnguard. She has been in the play since the past 5 seasons until 468 LV. Rada was the favorite character of Faye.

Headmaster Cypher

Headmaster Cypher is a fictional Cypher who is in charge of the Satomi in the children's story The Unwinding Box. He is tricked by the two mean faced girls, who made him suffer through torturous means, simply because he scolded them.

Leyra

Leyra was the cypher partner of Yarrow. During a patrol mission, Leyra discovered a strider distress and led Yarrow to tend to the signal. When Yarrow reached the location, he found everyone in the strider murdered, except for one child called Kismet, whom he comforted by telling his and Leyra's names.

Setu

Setu is a cypher who complains to Commander Vule about the foul stench in javelins used by the Sentinels.

Encountered Cyphers

These are the Cyphers with whom the Freelancer encounters during any expedition but aren’t represented enough in any Anthem related media to justify their own pages. Their faces aren’t usually shown during any expedition, and they are shown with generic Cypher models. They may, however be alive or dead. They may even be voiced.

Talako

Talako is a Cypher who guides Rythe and Lucky Jak while looking for Doctor Harken around the time of the encroachment of the Echo of Reality cataclysm. Talako helped the Freelancer to finally reach the Dominion Arcanist and capture him.

The Cypher from Welcome to Fort Tarsis

The Cypher from Welcome to Fort Tarsis is a Fort Cypher who is responsible for sending and receiving communications to and from Antium. Owen, being the little rascal he is, tries to confuse this Cypher by saying that the amplifier chair she was using, while the Freelancer visited him, was fuzzy. She thought Owen was being serious and gave in by saying she would request an Arcanist to perform a full maintenance check of that unit before she went away.

Popular Cyphers

These are popular Cyphers of Coda—alive or deceased. They each have their individual pages. Some of these could also be encountered during various expeditions. Some of them may belong to multiple factions.
