Bad Deal
It seems that Yarrow was finally able to obtain intel on the missing Shaper fragments. Now that the Heart of Rage is silenced, the Freelancer can help Yarrow and their fellow Freelancers gain back more trust in their faction.
Hints and Suggestions
- The dialog exchange between the characters will change depending on whether single player or multiplayer mode is played.
- Remember to perform Feats to obtain XP for increasing Pilot Level and receiving Alliance bonus.
- Make sure to read the text pop ups that show around the memorials. This can be easily done with the help of a Sniper Rifle. Zoom and aim at the pop up marker that looks like
for the best view. - Outlaw (Enemy), Scars Scrappers and Dominion Shocktroopers can be easily tackled with any combat equipment. Items that do Blast Damage are more useful when they are in hordes. Frost Hounds can also be dealt with in the same way.
- For Scar Hunters, Outlaw Gunner, and Outlaw Elementalist, it is best to focus on stripping their shields with lightning or Shield Breaker damage.
- Scar Hunters can do a lot of damage They must be a priority when tackling enemies. Once their shields are stripped, freeze them using ice or render them flightless with fire.
- Outlaw Rocket Troopers can also do a lot of damage, but they can be easily defeated with single target damage or exploded by targeting their rocket’s warhead when it is being launched.
- Dominion Brutes have armored health. They don’t do much damage. Using armor buster, acid or fire type damage is the best way to deal with them.

Outcome: With the outlaw auction shut down, and the Shaper fragments recovered, you pushed Diggs into a bad spot with some dangerous people. The bad news? The Dominion was one of the buyers. Who knows what deal Diggs could make with the scattered, desperate remains of an invading army? |

Quest Chain
This expedition is a part of the Shallow Grave Storyline. When the storyline is completed, an appropriate challenge is also completed, which will reward the Freelancer. The following are the related quests in order for this storyline:
Trivia (May Contain Spoilers)
- The Freelancer friends Yarrow talks about are Freelancers Hopkins, Kriss, and Maa.
- There is a very good reason why the Outlaws may have left the first location in hurry: they set up their business near Princess Zhim's Regulator hideout.
- The text pop up on the black crate reads:
- These supplies were shipped from the Dominion-held North.
- The text pop up on the opened crates reads:
- Several crates have been opened and abandoned here.
- There are 3 crates with text pop ups in the auction site in the dawn gates that read:
- Setup for the auction was not complete.
- Used to transport Shaper fragments and other dangerous items.
- Outlaws responsible were ready for any trouble from buyers.
- This expedition confirms that Shaper fragments are dangerous because they explode. Hence, the Arcanists have devised special containers for them.
- While the Scars bring in thir payment in the form of weapons, the Dominion don't bring any form of payment. The actual payment from the Dominion can be seen within a hidden text pop up during the expedition Impostor.

Briefing
The Freelancer meets Yarrow in the Enclave.
- Yarrow: "Good, good—there you are. I have news on our missing Shaper fragments."
- The Freelancer: "You found them?"
- Yarrow: "Not exactly, but I do know that that coward Diggs is planning on selling them off to the highest bidder."
- The Freelancer: "An auction?"
- Yarrow: "Yes. Some of the Arcanists you rescued overheard a few things. Gave me the idea."
- The Freelancer: "Where would this happen?"
- Yarrow: "I talked with some Freelancers, got some locations that would be ideal. My gut tells me Diggs won’t wait long to do this."
- The Freelancer: "Sounds right. Okay. I’ll get out there and start a search."

Travel to the Site
The Freelancer flies to Tracks of Midderon.
- The Freelancer: "Have you been to one of these shady auctions?"
- Yarrow: "A long time ago. Regulators stole my javelin. Tried to sell it. That did not go well for them."
- The Freelancer: "Why is this site likely for an auction?"
- Yarrow: "It’s been used before. Outlaws have few original thoughts."
At reaching the location,
- The Freelancer: "okay, let’s see if we can find something."
- Yarrow: "No outlaws in the area. Not getting any signals."
Search the Site
The Freelancer finds several opened containers around what used to be Princess Zhim's Hideout.
- The Freelancer: "Seeing a lot of boxes, equipment. They were in the middle of setting something up, for sure."
- Yarrow: "Looks like they left in a hurry."
There is a text pop up on a black crate. When the Freelancer finds a piece of a map, they interact with it. There is another text pop up near the map piece by the opened crates.
- The Freelancer: "Got something here. A partial map."
- Yarrow: "I see looks close to one of the other locations. Hmm. Worth a look."
- The Freelancer: "On my way."
Investigate Site from Map
The Freelancer flies to a nearby location within Tracks of Midderon.
- The Freelancer: "The damage Diggs caused—can we fix it?"
- Yarrow: "No choice. Freelancers are needed. With your help, we’ll make this right."
When the location is reahced, there is no one nearby.
- The Freelancer: "Must be here somewhere."
- Yarrow: "You be careful. This feels off."
The Freelancer finds an old piece of equipment and interacts with it.
- The Freelancer: "Got something. Source of the signal."
Immediately, a gaggle of outlaws ambush the Freelancer.
- Outlaw: "Now! Hit ‘em hard!"
- The Freelancer: "Uh oh, we got company."
- Yarrow: "Get out of there! It’s an ambush!"
- The Freelancer: "Yeah, I got that!"
- Yarrow: "Cowards!"
- Outlaw: "(Laughter.)"
Eliminate Ambushers
The Freelancer fights the Outlaws.
- Outlaw #1: "Diggs was right!"
- Outlaw #2: "Whoo!"
- Outlaw #3: "Yeah!"
- Yarrow: "There must be a very high price on your head. That’s good!"
- The Freelancer: "What? How’s that good?"
- Yarrow: "They’re scared!"
More outlaws gate in.
- Yarrow: "This was a setup. The map we found led us right into it."
- The Freelancer: "He knows we’re coming after him."
- Yarrow: "Teru, but I worry he knows far more than he should."
- The Freelancer: "Here comes some more."
- Yarrow: "Diggs doesn’t like us very much. Good."
When all the ambushers are defeated,
- The Freelancer: "Is that it? I think that’s it."
- Yarrow: "Search the bodies. I bet we find where the auction really is."
- The Freelancer: "On it."
Search Site
The Freelancer must find a Key Item to get the next location.
- The Freelancer: "Wait, I got a Freelancer link here. Anything on it about the auction?"
- Yarrow: "Checking… hm… yes, it has a location. Not far."
Locate Site
The Freelancer flies to the new location.
- Yarrow: "You bring that link back when this is done, yes?"
- The Freelancer: "Don’t worry."
- Yarrow: "Good. Now find that coward Diggs and break up his foul auction."
The Freelancer reaches the Dawn Gates, where outlaws have begun their auction.
- The Freelancer: "Something big is happening."
- Yarrow: "That’s the auction. Find those fragments. Oh, and don’t get shot."
- The Freelancer: "Chapter one of the Freelancer’s handbook."
Disrupt Auction
The Freelancer must prevent the auction from being successful.
Fragments Recovered
The Freelancer must recover 3 Shaper fragments.
Eliminate Outlaws
The Freelancer fights and defeats the auction holding outlaws. Note that there is a Legendary Outlaw Rocket Trooper among the gaggle who can be quite a nuisance if not dealt with.
- The Freelancer: "A lot of outlaws here. This is big."
- Yarrow: "Then we’re in the right place."
When the Outlaws are defeated, the Freelancer has enough time to look for the Fragments. When the first Fragment is recovered,
- The Freelancer: "Taking the Fragments."
- Yarrow: "Careful—we don’t want it blowing up."
- The Freelancer: "We agree on that."
There is also a text pop up on the nearby crates. When the second fragment is collected,
- The Freelancer: "Second one down."
There is a text pop up on the nearby crates. When the last fragment is recovered,
- Yarrow: "Careful—here come the outlaws’ first customers."
There is a text pop up near the crates.
- The Freelancer: "Scars. Of course. They brought a lot of firepower here. Clearly expecting trouble."
Eliminate Scar Buyer
Scars begin to come through a Scar hive with their leader—Lympkin. The Freelancer fights all the scars.
- Yarrow: "That is how they must be paying for the fragments. Weapons."
- The Freelancer: "Right. I’ll take care of it."
As the combat continues,
- The Freelancer: "Must be a big payment."
- Yarrow: "I told you. Fragments are very valuable."
When Lympkin is defeated,
- The Freelancer: "Finally brought him down."
- Yarrow: "Good work. No outlaw will get a chance to use these weapons."
Eliminate Remaining Scar
The Freelancer defeats any remaining scar.
Eliminate Dominion Buyer
- The Freelancer: "Is that…?"
- Yarrow: "The Dominion. A very bad customer indeed."
The Dominion begin to gate in with Kresky, a Dominion Storm Valkyrie as their leader.
- The Freelancer: "And their auction payment?"
- Yarrow: "Will be terrible. Stop them."
When Kresky is defeated, more Dominion gate in.
Eliminate Remaining Dominion
The Freelancer defeats any remaining Dominion enemies.
- The Freelancer: "Didn’t expect the Dominion to show up. They’re looking for anything to help rebuild their power."
- Yarrow: "They’re looking for anything to help rebuild their power."
When all the Dominion are defeated,
- The Freelancer: "I didn’t see anything that might be a payment from the Dominion for those Fragments."
- Yarrow: "I don’t like that. It means the deal was already made."
- The Freelancer: "And no Diggs."
- Yarrow: "Hmm. Get back to the fort. We need a plan."
- The Freelancer: "Yes we do."
The Freelancer returns to the fort after collecting any remaining items.
Post Expedition
Talk to Yarrow
The Freelancer meets with Yarrow in the Fort.
Follow up with Yarrow in the Fort
- Yarrow: "You’re back. Good—listen. Back in one piece: good. Crazy Shaper bits recovered from auction: also good."
- The Freelancer: "Let me guess, not finding Diggs: bad."
- Yarrow: "Very bad. He is powerful. Even the Dominion knew about the auction."
- The Freelancer: "Someone who looks like a Freelancer to have those kinds of friends—that’s going to cause problems."
- Yarrow: "Now, despite our success, there’s talk. Confusion. The thing is: Diggs is hurting. Those Arcanists he sold to Scars? We got them back."
- The Freelancer: "And we made sure that auction got shut down."
- Yarrow: "Truth. He lost the relics and made some bad people angry."
- The Freelancer: "He must be feeling the pinch."
- Yarrow: "Yes, but this makes him dangerous. Reckless. Hmm.. Maybe we can use this. I’ll think on this. You? Stay alive."
