Astronomy Tower was a landmark, located in the nation of Bastion, but is now a ruin on the planet Coda, as of the year 468 LV.

History

The Astronomy Tower is a tall tower built to study the astronomical phenomena of Coda. It was built during the early years of Legion Victorious with the permission of Emperor Arden Vassa. This is one of the early places where the stars were pictured, and the cycles of the Sun and the moon were charted.

Note that the Arcanists back then studied the cycle of the moon, and not the two moons that can be seen in the sky as of 468 LV. This is a common theme in the texts obtained from the Legion of Dawn or other ancient works. They usually end up mentioning one moon that gives away blue light. There are no mentions of the other moon that has a reddish glow in most olden documents.

During the of Season of Icetide of 486 LV, a wreath was hung on the tower, which when lit, would glow up. It would also help to collect secret Icetide Wishes.

Under the tower is a secret entrance to an unknown Hidden Place, which hasn’t been opened as of 468 LV. However, there is a flaming torch constantly lit, meaning someone is keeping it alive. What secrets lie in this underground location is a mystery yet to be solved.

Geography and Layout

Geography of Astronomy Tower

The Astronomy Tower is located in the ruined Arcanist city of Velathra within the Observatory of Velathra district. The tower is quite close to the Shaper rings called the Ring Gate. The tower is worn down due to the cataclysm that brought down Velathra, and not due to it being subjected to centuries of weathering. In fact, it seems impossible to climb the tower as there are no visible stairs. The tower has a post-Legion era architecture.

The tower overlooks a cliff, which marks the edge of the western side of Northern Bastion. It is theorized that the stairs to get to the top of the tower is located in the afore mentioned underground hidden place. A javelin might be able to fly to the tower’s top, if ripstreams allow it.

Flora

The following are the revealed varieties of plantlife that are guaranteed to be found in Astronomy Tower. Even a single instance of the flora found in this location is listed here. There may still be more plants that aren't accurately charted:

  1. Cycas (Outside)
  2. Grass
  3. Moss
  4. Trefoil
  5. Woody Vine

The following types of fauna, Chimera, and Elementals are revealed to be found in Astronomy Tower. There may also be small Insects which are tough to identify. Weaponized and Shaper Corrupt creatures are not listed here
