Enter Prison
Find Harken
Inside the prison, there is no sign of Dr. Harken. Haluk and Brin are sitting pondering what might have happened, when the Freelancer enters.
- Freelancer: "He’s gone, isn’t he?."
- Brin: "Commander Vule’s searching the fort. If Harken’s around, we’ll find him."
- Freelancer: "It’s not your fault, Brin."
- Brin: "I was standing right outside when we got your alert. He just… vanished. But—(scoffs.) People can’t really do that, right? Disappear at will? "
- Haluk: "Ehhn, things I’ve seen... can’t rule anything out. There was this one time--"
- Freelancer: "Haluk."
- Character: "Right... Another time."
Haluk point’s at the Freelancer, and then looks at Brin. She walks to a table by the wall.
- Brin: "(Sighs.) Harken left something for you. Guess, you were his favorite."
- Freelancer: "Lucky me."
Halku and the Freelancer go to Brin who has ser eyes fixed on a letter underneath an apple. The Freelancer puts the apple away.
- Freelancer: "Yeah, not eating anything you touched, Harken."
The Freelancer picks the letter to read.
In Mission
The Freelancer reading the letter is shown from Harken’s perspective, in Harken’s voice. Harken walks outside, by the fountain and then through the Bazar of Fort Tarsis.
- Harken: "Dearest Freelancer. Apologies for leaving you in the lurch, but I overheard the charming Commander’s plan to send me to Antium. And as Lovely as Bastion’s Capital is this time of the year, I’m a busy man. No time for sight-seeing."
Harken smilingly picks up an apple lying on someone’s table without their permission. He juggles the apple. He wipes the apple on his sleeve walking towards the forge.
- Harken: "Still, I couldn’t leave without defending myself. Vara’s accusations were hurtful. Ahhh… people are always quick to blame the Arcanist. But remember, I was essential to your success. Why would I help you stop a cataclysm I presumably planned?"
Harken takes a final look at the insides of the Fort, biting a chunk off the apple.
- Harken: "(Chuckles) Nonsense. One day, you will need my help again. And I’ll be there. That’s just the kind of ally I am."
Harken walks into the Launch Bay, and after that, is disappears.
Post-Mission
The Freelancer finishes reading the letter and looks at Brin and Haluk
- Freelancer: "(Disgusted noise) Slippery bastard.."
- Haluk: "The slipperiest."
Commander Vule enters the prison wearing his javelin.
- Freelancer: "You find him?"
- Vule: "No. And I’ve already informed Tassyn. She’s displeased."
- Brin: "What else is new?"
- Haluk: "(Sighs) Well, don’t worry. The Enclave, Sentinels, and Corvus are all on his ass.."
- Vule: "We’ll find him."
The commander walks away in a hurry, as if her forgot something or someone.
- Freelancer: "Question is, then what?"
Brin and Haluk look at the Freelancer perplexed.
